I am Alex van Gogh, an independent product leadership consultant helping organizations create clarity, structure and momentum in complex product and market environments.
My work focuses on product strategy, portfolio management, roadmaps, product development, go-to-market and the way product work is organized across teams. I operate at the intersection of market, product and organization, where strategic choices need to become practical decisions and tangible progress.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked in various product management roles across technical and market-driven industries, including medical devices, consumer goods, manufacturing, construction and horticulture. That background has shaped the way I work: strategic in thinking, hands-on in execution and always focused on the connection between customer value, technical feasibility and business impact.
I help organizations bring sharper direction to product portfolios, create roadmaps that teams can actually use and improve alignment between management, product, sales, marketing, R&D and operations. I believe product leadership is not only about defining what should happen, but also about creating the conditions for better decisions, stronger ownership and more effective execution.
My style is pragmatic, structured and result-driven. I like to bring order to complexity, challenge assumptions where needed and help teams move from scattered ideas or competing priorities to clear choices and forward momentum.
Outside work, I am a husband, father, friend and cyclist. I enjoy creating things that matter to people, whether that is a shared experience, a thoughtful piece of content, a nice dinner or BBQ with friends, or simply time well spent together. Cycling gives me a useful counterbalance to business life: preparation, pacing, changing conditions and sometimes getting through a climb together.
That personal side also influences how I work. I care about whether things make sense, whether people are treated fairly and whether decisions are made on the right basis. I tend to look beyond the visible issue and pay attention to the system around it: roles, ownership, expectations, decision-making and the human dynamics that often determine whether product work succeeds.
Almost 25 years of international experience, for medical devices and medtech, technical and manufacturing, consumer products and horticulture.
